Berberidion: Cotoneastro-Amelanchieretum, Pruno-Ligustretum (Ligustro-Prunetum), Corylo-Rosetum vosagiacae, Rhamno-Cornetum sanguinei, Salici-Hippophaetum rhamnoidis, (Hippophao-Berberidetum), Salici-Viburnetum opuli, Sambuco nigrae-Clematidetum, Berberido-Rosetum, Roso-Ulmetum campestris

Shrub communities of Western Europe and western and northern Central Europe east to Poland, northern Moldavia, Slovakia and Austria, developed on the usually calcareous, drier soils and warmer exposure characteristic of the Quercion pubescenti-petraeae and oferic, calciphilous forms of the Carpinion, with, among others, Prunus spinosa, Ligustrum vulgare, Viburnum lantana, Cornus mas, Rhamnus catharticus.

Nyugat-Európa, valamint Közép-Európa Ausztriáig, Szlovákiáig, Lengyelországig és Észak-Moldováig terjedő nyugati és északi területein, szárazabb, mészben gazdagabb talajon, melegebb élőhelyeken (mint például a Quercion pubescenti-petraeae és a Carpinion szárazabb, mészkedvelő formái) megtalálható társulások; alkotó fajaik többek között Prunus spinosa, Ligustrum vulgare, Viburnum lantana, Cornus mas, Rhamnus catharticus.
