Meadows of moderately to very nutrient-rich, alluvial or fertilized, non-saline, wet or damp soils in the steppe and wooded steppe zones of Eurasia and their areas of influence.They are widespread in south-eastern Central Europe, in Eastern Europe and southern Siberia, extending west to the Pannonic plain and to areas of Pannonic or Pontic influence in southern Moravia, sub-Carpathian hills and the Balkans.

Eurázsia sztyepp vagy erdőssztyepp zónájában és annak befolyási területein mérsékelten vagy erősen tápanyaggazdag, ártéri vagy műtrágyázott, nem szikes, nedves vagy mocsári talajokon kialakult rétek. Elterjedtek Közép-Európa délkeleti részén, Kelet-Európában és Dél-Szibériában, és elhatolnak nyugat felé, egészen a Kárpát-medencéig, Dél-Morvaország pontus-pannóniai befolyású területeiig, a Kárpátok előhegyeiig és a Balkánig.
