Flood-plain meadows of the great rivers of the Pannonic and Danubian basins of the Alföld, the Little Alföld, the Drava and Sava basins, the Leitha and Danube basins of eastern Lower Austria and the Burgenland, Transylvania, Oltenia, subject to repeated flooding in the course of the year; wet or damp, non-saline meadows of moderately to very nutrient-rich, alluvial or fertilized soils of the same regions.

A Kárpát-medencében a Duna-völgyében az Alföldön, a Kisalföldön, a Dráva és a Száva völgyében, az alsó-ausztriai Lajta és Duna völgyében, Burgenlandban, Erdélyben és Olténiában kialakult, évente ismételten elöntött ártéri vagy trágyázott, tápanyagban gazdag vagy közepesen gazdag, nedves vagy vizes, nem szikes talajokon ugyanabban a régióban kialakult társulások.
