Thermophilous Illyrian Fagus sylvatica forests of the northern Dinarids and pre-Dinarids and of the southern mid-Pannonic or sub-Pannonic hills, north to the Hungarian Mecsec and Tolna hills, with Tilia tomentosa, Fraxinus ornus and Carpinus betulus in the canopy, Helleborus odorus, Tamus communis, Chaerophyllum aureum, Ruscus hypoglossum, Ruscus aculeatus, Potentilla micrantha in the herb layer.
A Dinári-hegység és előhegyei valamint az északon a Mecsekig és a Tolnai-dombságig húzódó déli közép pannon dombok melegkedvelő illír Fagus sylvatica erdői a lombkoronában Tilia tomentosa, Fraxinus ornus és Carpinus betulus, az aljnövényzetben Helleborus odorus, Tamus communis, Chaerophyllum aureum, Ruscus hypoglossum, Ruscus aculeatus, Potentilla micrantha jelenlétével.
