Xero-thermophile oak woods dominated by Quercus petraea or Quercus robur, of the central Sarmatic regions in Podolia, the central Russian plateaux, Bashkiria and the southern Urals, north of, and along the northern edge of, the Sarmatic wooded steppe zone.

A szarmata régió erdőssztyepp-övezetét észak felől szegélyező és attól észak felé terjedő xero-termofil Quercus petraea vagy Quercus robur erdok a szarmata régió középső részén, Podoliában, a Közép-Orosz síkságon, Baskíriában és az Urál déli részén és a szarmata erdőssztyeppzóna északi peremén.
