Főképp a Picea abies, a Picea omorika vagy a Picea orientalis fajok által alkotott fenyvesek az Alpokban, a Kárpátokban, a Dinári-hegységben, a Balkán-hegységben, a Rodopében, az Appeninekben, a Jurában, az herciniai hegyekben, a Pontuszi-hegységben és a Kaukázusban.
