Acidic fen communities of middle Europe, the Alpine system, the Pyrenees and northern Iberia, rich in Carex nigra, Carex canescens, Carex echinata, often accompanied by Eriophorum angustifolium and Juncus spp., with a muscinal layer of brown mosses, sphagnums or both.

Közép-Európa, az Alpok rendszere, a Pireneusok és Ibéria északi része Carex nigra, Carex canescens, Carex echinata fajokban gazdag, gyakran Eriophorum angustifolium és Juncus spp. fajok által kísért, lombosmohák, tőzegmoha vagy mindkettő által alkotott moharéteggel rendelkező savanyú rétláp társulásai.
